French Ambassador Baumgartner in Interview with Radio Free Europe

French Ambassador Cyrille Baumgartner says in an interview with Radio Free Europe says a revision of North Macedonia’s Constitution is necessary for progress on the EU path. In that regard, he adds that in the current situation, part of the opposition will need to vote in favour. All political stakeholders, Baumgartner notes, should take responsibility, while, most likely, political dialogue will be needed for that result to be achieved. “My intuition is as follows, perhaps I am wrong, but Macedonians today don’t want anybody, especially not an ambassador from a big EU country to explain to them how to think because people feel they have waited a lot, made a lot of concessions, and they don’t believe the promises today, and I understand and respect that,” the Ambassador explains.
