The main remark of both Judicial Council President Sasko Georgiev and Council of Public Prosecutors President Antonio Jolevski regarding the Criminal Code changes is the quick and non-transparent adoption.
The Justice Ministry didn’t consult the two institutions over the matter. According to Georgiev, the consequences and effects of the changes weren’t analysed. Jolevski believes that the changes should have been adopted more transparently and that the process should have included people who practice law. In his view, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where work on the cases is underway, should say how the changes will affect the work of prosecutors.
