Government Declares State of Energy Crisis Starting from 1 September

The Government of North Macedonia adopted on Thursday evening a decision to declare a state of energy crisis on the entire territory of the country. The state of energy crisis will become effective on 1 September 2022 and will last for 30 days. The government also reached a decision for declaring a state of crisis in the City of Skopje in relation to the situation with the supply of central heating. During the time of crisis, the government will be able to provide financial assistance to the Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM) to secure coal and mazut in order to secure 100% of the energy necessities for the upcoming winter.
