Spokesperson of the Government of North Macedonia Dusko Arsovski said at a press conference that the European Commission’s positions are to adopt the negotiation frameworks and hold accession talks with North Macedonia and Albania simultaneously. This was the response to a question from the press concerning the positions of the government in relation to the intentions of Albania to demand decoupling from North Macedonia in the EU accession process. “This is a process based on merit, and both countries conducted series of reforms, which is why we believe that the start of the EU accession talks with both North Macedonia and Albania is necessary for securing the stability and the EU-perspective of the entire Western Balkan region,” Arsovski said.
