Government: Strike in Education Must End, We Must Think of Our Children

The Government of North Macedonia discussed at a session on Tuesday the current situation in primary and secondary schools around the country created by the strike of the teachers, organised by the Education Trade Union. The government established a working group which is to resume the negotiations with the Education Trade Union over the increase of the salaries they demand in line with the increase of the minimum salary, and also obliged the Ministries of Finance, Education and Labour and Social Policy to prepare plans for the upcoming state budget rebalance so that the salaries of teachers and kindergarten care-givers are increased by 10%. From the government they once again called upon the Education Trade Union to cease with the strike and resume with educational processes for the best interest of the students.
