On Friday, at an event in Tetovo where Mayor Bilall Kasami was cutting a ribbon, a Greater Albania flag was being waved again. However, he distanced himself from it, saying local authorities were not behind it.
According to Kasami, citizens are the ones that are behind it and they are reacting to the latest developments in relation to Kosovan PM Albin Kurti’s visit.
The following day, First Deputy PM Artan Grubi said the iconography had been unnecessary. “It doesn’t aim to bring good to Albanians and Macedonians, especially not when a distinguished guest from the State Department is coming to the country to support our country’s EU integration,” he noted.
