Grkovska Comments on Criminal Code Changes and Skrin Media Case

On Monday, Deputy PM Slavica Grkovska voiced satisfaction with the changes to the Criminal Code concerning confiscation of assets.

However, she is not satisfied with the part of the changes concerning abuse of duty and criminal association. Expanded confiscation is favourable because those that have broken the law will feel they lose something as a result of the confiscation, while citizens will benefit too, Grkovska assessed.

“Over the other provisions, I expressed my reservations also at the Government’s session because you’re witnessing that there are reactions by the public about the way those articles will effectuate in terms of current cases, but also in general,” she noted.

Regarding the case of Skrin Media, the other company owned by Elmedin Ademi, the Deputy PM stated that she expected a quick and efficient result by the State Commission for Prevention Commission. “I expect measures to be issued on the basis of that, sure enough, if the SCPC finds that is so, according to the indications and findings about what was done,” she stated.
