“I’m trying to do my best to achieve this goal. First, we need a green light to the final preparation of negotiations and then and again it’s a merit-based procedure and of course we need to consent of all member-states, but I’m doing my best to get this done,” the EU’s Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, told interview Radio Free Europe on Tuesday, asked whether he thought Macedonia and Albania would start accession negotiations in December. The Commissioner was also asked whether he thought it was possible for the two countries to get a green light in October instead of June this year. “Well, there are some discussions but I’m focused to have a decision before the summer because this was always our intention. We will present our annual Report in two weeks’ time where we will certainly give a positive recommendation for both countries,” Hahn added.
