The Health Ministry informed that they have received on Thursday morning the contract from Pfizer for procurement of 800,280 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. “The procurement will be conducted in 4 quarters, and the first quarter of 21,060 doses will arrive in our country by the end of March 2021. The Pfizer vaccines are packed in multi-dosage phials, from which up to 6 doses can be extracted. The vaccines are to be stored on a temperature of -70 degrees Celsius, while in a common refrigerator on a temperature between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius it can remain usable for 5 days. Once the vaccine is dissolved for administration, it may remain feasible for 6 hours. Our healthcare system is completely prepared to conduct the immunisation process,” the Health Ministry informed. This information was also confirmed by PM Zoran Zaev, who said that the government is taking all the steps for procurement of vaccines from other producers as well, and that we shall get the first shipment by the end of March.
