Healthcare Authorities Investigate Probability of First Monkeypox Case

Teams of the Public Healthcare Institute and the Health Ministry are taking precaution measures in preparation for eventual detection of the first case of monkeypox in North Macedonia. Namely, a patient from Kicevo reported to the healthcare authorities with monkeypox symptoms after they returned from a trip abroad, and now the Public Healthcare Institute conducts the necessary measures for locating their contacts since their return. From the Public Healthcare Institute, they state that they have already issued recommendations for protection from monkeypox, while the Health Ministry informed that they have a sufficient amount of tests and vaccines in case cases are confirmed.
