The Mission of OSCE in Macedonia and the Interior Ministry started on Wednesday a new project for reduction of the risks of illegal trade and abuse of small arms and light weapons (SALW). “Improvement of the security over the national supplies of SALW will also improve the security of borders and will contribute to the fight against organised crime, and ultimately will improve the safety of the citizens in general,” said OSCE Mission Head Clemens Koja. Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said that the problem with the uncontrolled and illegal distribution of SALW gained importance in international agendas.
