Israel Situation: Flight Provided for Evacuation of North Macedonia Nationals

A Tel Aviv-Skopje flight has been secured for evacuation of North Macedonia nationals.

As PM Dimitar Kovacevski said on Thursday, they should be in their homes as early as Friday. An Air Serbia plane will be used. Kovacevski thanked his Serbian counterpart, Ana Brnabic, for the assistance in the major diplomatic-consular operation. In a press release, the Government said the charter flight could be used for evacuation of all North Macedonia that wanted to leave Israel and that had asked to return to North Macedonia.

The cost will be covered by North Macedonia’s Budget reserves. Previously, VMRO- DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski had said the country’s nationals were left on their own and criticised the “epic incompetence” of the government of SDSM and DUI.
