The Italian Ambassador to Macedonia Carlo Romeo met on Thursday the newly elected President of Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski in order to surrender him a letter from Italian President Sergio Mattarella. In the letter, Mattarella congratulates Pendarovski on his victory in the 2019 presidential election. “Italy supports North Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic perspective and will continue to promote Skopje’s constructive actions towards fruitful regional cooperation. I am convinced that North Macedonia will achieve concrete progress for sooner European integration during your presidential term. In this context, we are committed to consolidating bilateral partnership and enhancing political, cultural and economic relations that have tied our countries for ages,” Mattarella writes.
