Janeva attends her Mother’s Funeral, then returned to Custody in Skopje

The Head of the Special Public Prosecution (SPO) Katica Janeva was escorted by police officers to the funerary service for her late mother in Gevgelija on Thursday morning. Janeva stayed in Gevgelija for around half an hour, after which the police returned her back to the Sutka Prison, where she is serving a 30-day detention. In meantime, her lawyer Stevan Pavleski filed an appeal to the Criminal Court for revocation of the detention measure against Janeva, but the Court ultimately rejected the appeal. Pavleski, in order to avoid conflict of interest and by recommendation of PPOC Head Vilma Ruskovska, withdrew as defence lawyer from all cases processed by SPO.
