Bulgarian Defence Minister Krasimir Karakachanov published on Thursday on social networks a list of Macedonian politicians from VMRO-DPMNE for which he claims hold a Bulgarian citizenship and passport. “Over 120,000 citizens of North Macedonia hold Bulgarian citizenship and passport, and among them are some politicians too, like Aleksandar Nikolovski, Antonio Milososki, Petar Bogojeski, Filip Petrovski, Nikola Micevski, Aleksandar Pandov and many others. These people acquired the Bulgarian citizenships by signing a statement in which they declare to have Bulgarian origins, i.e. that some of their ancestors are Bulgarian. These facts are easily checkable through the lists of voters for the upcoming parliamentary election here in Bulgaria. These people can vote in the elections if they want to, but they also have the chance to receive COVID-19 vaccines, because their motherland takes care for them,” Karakachanov wrote.
