On Tuesday, Kate Marie Byrnes sent her first holiday message as the U.S. Ambassador in Skopje. The first topic she talks about is Macedonia’s road to NATO membership. “Your country ended the year sitting at the table with its future NATO allies in London, poised early in 2020 to finally realise the long-held aspiration to join the Alliance. This is a fitting capstone to a year that began with the signing of North Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol back in February,” Byrnes points out. Among the other topics discussed in the video are also the Macedonia-US bilateral partnership, the country’s road as far as EU integration is concerned, and foreign investments.
