Lake Smilkovci Killings Case: Alil Demiri Arrested in Kosovo

Alil Demiri, one of those convicted for terrorism in relation to the 2012 Lake Smilkovci killings, has been arrested in Kosovo.

“Today, the Republic of Kosovo’s police, in cooperation with the Macedonian police, deprived of liberty in Kosovo Alil Demiri, 38, on the basis of an international warrant issued by the Republic of North Macedonia’s Interior Ministry,” North Macedonia’s police said on Thursday. In the procedure in North Macedonia, Demiri was sentenced, in absentia, to life in prison.
