Lawsuits have been filed before the Court in Pernik challenging the Bulgarian Prosecutor’s Office preliminary investigation over the Struma accident in which 45 passengers were killed and seven injured, Nikolay Dimitrov, lawyer of the victims’ families has confirmed for MTV1 TV. He hopes the additional investigation, which is at an advanced stage, will shed new light on the case. As the lawyer says, the expert will analyse the road infrastructure, seek details about the road signalisation, signs, and asphalt quality in order to conclude whether the road infrastructure is a factor too “because we believe that blame falls also to Bulgaria’s Road Infrastructure, too.” Therefore, Dimitrov believes that the lawsuits should be considered by both the Agency and the representative of the insurance company from North Macedonia, represented in Bulgaria by the National Bureau of Automobile Insurance Companies.
