LIBSEEN Forum Held in Skopje

Leaders from the region and several MEPs took part Wednesday in Skopje at a forum of the Liberal South East European Network (LIBSEEN) marking its 10th anniversary to discuss cooperation of the countries in the region and the perspectives of liberalism, including ways to accelerate the integration processes of SEE countries for joining the EU and NATO. Opening the event, Goran Milevski, President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Macedonia and lawmaker, said the forum aimed at strengthening the country’s part towards its strategic partners – NATO and the EU. “In the conservative Balkan region it is hard to be a liberal and thus, LDP, being part of the government coalition, is trying to make structural changes leading towards democratization and liberalization of the society. With the steps we are making, we strive to cement the path of future generation to work on improving of all spheres in the society,” said Milevski, who also hosts the forum.
