French President Emanuel Macron, in his presentation of the priorities of the French presidency over EU at the European Parliament, referred to the situation with the processes for integration of the Western Balkans in the EU. “The Western Balkans are the heart of Europe, and carry scars that remind us of the strength, the peace, but also the insecurity of our union. This is why today we have a vocation to re-examine our relations with the Western Balkans and provide them with a clearer perspective for EU membership. We need to also redefine our internal regulations for making decisions, so they are more precise, so we can be politically more stable and make better decisions in shorter periods of time. This is why we are looking forward to organising the conference between EU and the Western Balkans this summer,” Macron said.
