Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Maricic said in an interview for Serbian newspaper Politika that the government in Skopje has so far managed to respond properly to all challenges it faced in the dialogue with Bulgaria for starting the EU accession process. “We managed to conclude an agreement which protects the Macedonian language. This means there will be no such things as assimilation or ‘Bulgarisation’ like some other people believed. On Tuesday we start the EU accession talks, with protected and intact Macedonian language in the process. Of course, politics is an unpredictable thing, so in case we face new blockades on our way, we are mature enough as society to make the right decisions and to protect our national interests,” Maricic said.
