It is up to citizens of Macedonia to decide on the future of their country in the upcoming referendum, which is a window that rarely opens and should be made use of, MEP Knut Fleckenstein said Wednesday in Skopje at the debate ‘European Values for European Future’, organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. “I can’t tell you whether the referendum is the right move or not. You have just a few moments to decide on the best possible opportunity at your disposal. Please don’t disappoint me. If you fail to grasp this opportunity you will be waiting for decades for a new one to come along. I will not tell you what to do, but only ask you to not miss this opportunity. Please consider what would happen in case of general elections in Greece that could bring New Democracy to power,’ Fleckenstein said.
