MEP Kyuchyuk Requests Postponing of Vote for Report on North Macedonia

Rapporteur for North Macedonia in the European Parliament, MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk
requested from the Parliament to postpone the voting over the latest report for the
progress of North Macedonia. “I am convinced that in the upcoming period before the
voting for the report will be a serious test for the European aspirations of North
Macedonia, especially concerning the adoption of the constitutional changes. If that is
not the case, it will turn out that those who do not believe in the country’s aspirations for
EU accession were right all along. In both cases, the European Parliament will have a
clear line by which it will vote for the report this autumn,” Kyuchyuk said, adding that
the postponing of the voting will aid the support of constructive dialogue in North
Macedonia and will strengthen its relations with Bulgaria.
