The methodology to determine judges’ property situation will be known by the end of January or start of February. Only judges whose names will be on the list that’s being prepared by the State Commission for Prevention and Corruption (SCPC) and the Judicial Council will be part of the process. “Defining the criteria on the basis of which the list will be drawn up is in its final stage,” SCPC President BIljana Avanovska said on Thursday. Part of the criteria will concern the number of complaints filed by citizens about a judge. The same day, Ivanovska said if the Extortion case was solved, not only would the perception of corruption in Macedonia improve, but also the trust of citizens in institutions would increase. In her view, if the judiciary does its job effectively, the perception of corruption will be different.
