VMRO-DPMNE Leader Hristijan Mickoski held a press conference on Saturday after the Parliament adopted the French proposal for start of the EU accession talks for North Macedonia. In his address, Mickoski said that this is not the end for the Macedonian people, and that they will manage to preserve the language and national identity. “They think that this is over, but we are together with the people and we shall win this battle. This proposal contains a protocol that demands from us to conduct changes to our Constitution in order to register the Bulgarians in it. Well, that will not happen, because here with me I have official statements by all MPs from VMRO-DPMNE, with a notary’s seal, that they shall never support these constitutional changes. Having in mind that a two-third majority in the Parliament is compulsory for constitutional changes, this will never happen, which means the plan for Bulgarianisation of our country is halted,” Mickoski said.
