VMRO-DPMNE MP Antonio Milososki from Washington, where he is attending a conference on transatlantic security, said that the country will not receive a date for the start of negotiations this December, and that Albania is lobbying for separation from North Macedonia. He says this stems from conversations he has had with colleagues from France, Norway, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Albania and Lithuania. “From the conversation with the interlocutors, the conclusion emerges that this December, North Macedonia will not receive a date for the start of negotiations with the EU. The same unfavourable outcome is expected in the period January-July 2022. Albania, meanwhile, is making diplomatic efforts to separate from the package with North Macedonia to increase its chances of getting a negotiating date on its own, but it remains uncertain whether this option will persuade all EU members to make a unanimous decision on the desired step by official Tirana,” Milososki said. SDSM reacted that Milososki, and with him VMRO-DPMNE, is lobbying against EU integration of the country, instead of doing their best of sending positive messages on the issue.
