The solution to the name issue is one of the rare good news for the EU, it was assessed by High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini on Monday in Brussels, at whose Foreign Affairs Council the country’s new name was used for the first time. She admitted that the meeting had started off with applause for the reached deal, but added that it would not be enough for the country to start negotiations with the EU in June without achieved results in the reform process. “This represents the positive step will have an influence on the opening of negotiations. It will not be the only element, obviously, but our friends from North Macedonia know very well that the focus on the reform agenda is as crucial as the solution of the name was,” Mogherini said.
