Montenegrin President Djukanovic meets Counterpart Pendarovski in Skopje

During his visit to Skopje, Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic held a meeting on Wednesday with counterpart Stevo Pendarovski. According to Djukanovic, though Macedonia lost its step with regard to the integration path after 2008, the lessons have been learned and big progress has been made. The Montenegrin President expects Macedonia to soon formalise its NATO membership and start EU membership negotiations, considering, as he explained, the positive signals of the new administration in Brussels towards enlargement policies. Pendarovski said he’d been assured by his counterpart that the good Skopje-Podgorica relations would continue in the future too. “We appreciate Montenegro’s clear and unambiguous support,” he stated.
