NATO’s Missiroli holds Meetings in Skopje

On Tuesday, Antonio Missiroli, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, held a meeting in Skopje with President Stevo Pendarovski. They talked about the successful cooperation between NATO and Macedonia, about current joint projects and about progress in defence and security reforms. As Pendarovski pointed out, Macedonia’s full-fledged NATO membership will represent achievement of one of the country’s strategic orientations and main cohesive factor of “our multi-ethnic democratic society”. The President expects the ratification of the Accession Protocol to finish by the end of the year, after which Macedonia will become the 30th member of the Alliance. Missiroli congratulated Pendarovski on his election as President, wishing him a successful term. The same day, the NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges also met with FM Nikola Dimitrov. That meeting focused on the Science for Peace and Security Programme.
