The Spokesperson of the Greek political party New Democracy Maria Spiraki called upon the Greek PM Alexis Tsipras to declare early parliamentary election in Greece, referring the recent developments in the name issue with Macedonia. “When it comes to the issue with Skopje, instead of asking New Democracy what will we do if the Prespa Agreement is ratified by both sides, Tsipras should do the right thing himself, and declare early election, so that the people themselves can properly reject the Prespa Agreement,” Spiraki says. The statement follows an interview in which Tsipras said that Greek opposition leader Mitsotakis “has no courage to declare that he will annul the Prespa Agreement” and that his position on this matter is different in the country and out of it.
