“Macedonian citizens have long deserved the start of negotiations with the European Union, that is something that North Macedonia deserves. Unfortunately, the blockade from Bulgaria stands, an unprincipled veto and a veto that undermines the foundations of the Macedonian state, the Macedonian national identity and the Macedonian language,” said VMRO-DPMNE Vice President Aleksandar Nikoloski, answering a journalist question during a visit to Negotino regarding Bulgarian demands and the EU veto. Nikoloski stressed that the European Union should put strong pressure on Bulgaria, in order to lift the veto in June and North Macedonia to finally get a date for the start of negotiations.
