SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE still haven’t adjusted their stands on the election date. The former claims that the Constitution requires an election process on 5 July, whereas the latter says the first order of business should be putting the COVID-19 situation under control. The opposition party’s leader, Hristijan Mickoski, emphasises that he intends to talk about elections once the coronavirus situation is overcome. According to him, though his party wants for compromise to be reached, he doesn’t feel pleasant talking about an election process in a period when data on new COVID-19 cases and deaths are being presented. On the other hand, SDSM stresses that the elections are a solution, not a problem. The ruling party opines that there should be a functional legislative home that will deal with the healthcare and economic situation.
