North Macedonia Takes over OSCE Chairpersonship-In-Office

On 1 January, North Macedonia took over the OSCE Chairpersonship-in-Office. Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani is the new OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. The Organisation works on all-encompassing aspects of security related to the political-military, economic-ecological, and human dimension. Through its unique approach, the OSCE contributes to regional peace, cooperation, and overall development. Under the motto “It’s About People”, North Macedonia’s Chairpersonship-in-Office will focus on human security in an era of regional and global insecurity and instability. According to Osmani, the focus will be on field operations, while concrete activities will be taken to make people’s lives easier and advance their rights and freedoms.  Minister Osmani will officially inaugurate North Macedonia’s Chairpersonship and outline its priorities at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting in Vienna on 12 January 2023, the OSCE said in a press-release.
