The Health Ministry informed that throughout the past weekend, a total number of 165 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Macedonia (48 on Friday, 49 on Saturday and 68 on Sunday), with which the number of cases in entire country reached 828. In the past weekend, 5 COVID-19 related deaths were registered, while 3 patients were discharged from the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Skopje after their two control tests turned out negative for COVID-19. By city, out of all 828 COVID-19 cases, 312 are in Skopje, 200 in Kumanovo, 72 in Prilep, 49 in Debar, 43 in Struga, 33 in Tetovo, 30 in Veles, 27 in Stip, 21 in Kocani, 9 in Bitola, 8 in Gostivar, 4 in Gevgelija, Kavadarci, Ohrid and Radovis, 3 in Kriva Palanka and Krusevo, 2 in Strumica and 1 in Probistip. At the moment, 119 patients are hospitalised at clinics around the country, while 8 of them are hooked on medical ventilators. At a press conference on Friday, Health Minister Venko Filipce informed that thanks to the efforts made by the healthcare authorities and the other state institutions the curve of progression of COVID-19 is being flattened, slowly but steadily. “It is very important that we have a linear growth of patients, which means that the coronavirus impact has been softened. I know it is difficult to stay home considering the nice weather, but we must demonstrate maximum responsibility and abide by the measures,” Filipce said.
