On Thursday, during his visit to Skopje, Bulgarian PM Boyko Borissov and his Macedonian counterpart, Zoran Zaev, bowed before Goce Delcev’s tomb in the capital of Macedonia. Afterwards, the former adamantly said he expected the Macedonian-Bulgarian Commission to reach compromise by October because, as he explained, he doesn’t event want to think about being put in a position to raise his hand against Macedonia’s Euro-integration. Zaev, too, is optimistic that a solution to the Goce Delcev issue is possible. According to him, it’s positive example that the Commission has so far managed to adjust stands on figures and events from the middle ages. Borissov apologised for describing, around a month ago, President Stevo Pendarovski as a North Macedonian politician who admits that Delcev is Bulgarian.
