Oncology Clinic: Committee Continues Debate on Audit Office’s Report

Parliament’s Finance and Budget Committee continued on Monday the debate on the State Audit Office’s report on the Oncology Clinic.

The cytostatics case, too, was discussed again. VMRO-DPMNE MP Zaklina Pesevska stated that in addition to the CATO system not functioning, it was also symptomatic why the Public Prosecutor’s Office had opened the investigation following media reports, not after the Audit Office’s report.

According to her, authorities should also say why the national system, which was supposed to be run by the Health Ministry, to control the whole path of patient treatment and diagnosis is not functioning. The Audit Office’s head, Maksim Acevski, stated that the risk of a monopoly with regards to procurement of therapy was something that should be addressed right away.
