OSCE Mission Hands over Donation for Interior Ministry’s Weapons Sector

On Tuesday, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski held a working meeting with the Head of the OSCE Mission, Ambassador Kilian Wahl. The Mission handed over a valuable donation, specialised vehicles worth 50,000 euros, in the frames of the project for assisting North Macedonia’s national authorities in reducing the risk of proliferation of weapons and misuse of small arms and light weapons, intended for the Ministry’s Weapons Sector.

The goal of the project is to provide support for law enforcement institutions in developing depoliticised, professional capacities, with ability to deal with transnational threats and organised crime, in accordance with international democratic principles and human rights standards.

Minister Spasovski underlined the importance of the project. As he added, the donation will be hugely important to the functioning and improvement of conditions and capacities to solidify the security system at a national level. Mission Head Wahl described the donation as one step forward in the joint OSCE- Interior Ministry path.
