Osmani: Bulgarians Can Be Listed in Constitution Preamble if Needed

Foreign Affairs Minister Bujar Osmani said that if necessary, the Bulgarian minority in Macedonia can be mentioned in the preamble of the Constitution of Macedonia along with all other ethnicities that are not encompassed under the term “others”. “Bulgarians that live in North Macedonia should feel as free as the other ethnic communities, allowed to be organised in a single community. They can enjoy the human right all citizens of our country enjoy, and if necessary, they can be mentioned in the preamble of the Constitution,” Osmani said. President of Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski opposed this possibility, saying that at the moment there are no necessities for changes to the Constitution of Macedonia. Similar rection also came from the Government of Macedonia.
