Osmani is Optimistic That Negotiations with EU Will Start

Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani is optimistic that Macedonia will start negotiations for membership in the European Union. Everyone involved in the process, he said, is aware of the stakes, the weight and the consequences of failing the process. Working groups from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia and Bulgaria work on a daily basis to overcome all contentious issues, said Minister Osmani. According to him, the Macedonian side is ready to specify certain parts of the relations between the two countries, but also, as he said, the obligation of Macedonia not to interfere in the internal affairs of neighbouring countries. Osmani, however, added that he is optimistic that a solution will be found.
