VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said at a press conference on Wednesday that VMRO-DPMNE representatives will hold meetings in the following days with representatives of other parliamentary parties for formation of new ruling alliance and government. “VMRO-DPMNE will try to secure a parliamentary majority of 61 MPs and form a government, but not at any cost, under threats and blackmail, exclusively on the basis on the vision for better standards for the citizens. We are prepared to negotiate not only with Besa, but also with all the parties in the coalition led by SDSM. Once we assume power, we shall start processes for investigating the origin of the assets owned by politicians, office holders and their family members,” Mickoski said. In a statement for TV21, SDSM leader Zoran Zaev said that SDSM is also conducting negotiations with parliamentary parties. “We are conducting negotiations, either directly between party leaders, or via working groups. We are certain that we shall secure a stable majority for formation of the new government,” Zaev said. On Tuesday, DPA officially joined the alliance of SDSM and BESA. From SDSM they briefly reported that Zaev held meetings with the leader of DUI, AA and Alternative, Ali Ahmeti, Ziadin Sela and Afrim Gashi respectively, adding that details will be revealed in the following days.
