At the sidelines of the Brdo-Brijuni Summit in Kranj, President Stevo Pendarovski held a bilateral meeting with Croatian President Zoran Milovanovic, who said that Croatia does not support the Bulgarian blockade for start of the membership negotiations between Macedonia and EU. “North Macedonia currently is in a very unfavourable position, because they are facing demands and conditions which attempt to interfere in a rather intimate segments of the state, and I shall openly oppose such conditioning. Croatia and Slovenia also have their share of history when it comes to the conditioning of the EU accession of our country, but we never felt or saw it as an attempt for Slovenia to humiliate Croatia or prevent its EU integration,” Milovanovic said. Pendarovski also held meetings with Slovenian President Borut Pahor and Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani. The Summit participants also signed a Declaration in which they call upon the EU to look upon the Western Balkans as a geo-political issue, and to start the membership negotiations with Macedonia and Albania as soon as possible.
