People with Disabilities Stage Protest in front of Government

Several NGOs representing the people with disabilities staged a protest in front of the
government, demanding better treatment by the state and respect and protection of their
human rights. “We demand, just like the state officials increased their salaries by 78%, to
also increase the disability supplements by 78%, increase the period for assistance support
we get from 80 hours to 160 hours, coverage by the state for parents of children with
disabilities which are forced to work part time. The financial assistance from the state must
correspond to the incomes of the people with disabilities, and not to be calculated based on
the average net salary,” said Suaret Alishan from the alliance “We Change”.
