In the frames of the two-day visit to Athens, PM Dimitar Kovacevski attended on Monday the informal dinner organised by his Greek counterpart, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Thessaloniki Declaration at the EU-Western Balkans Summit.
The event was attended also by, among others, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, and Kosovan PM Albin Kurti, During the discussion, views were exchanged on the EU path of the Western Balkans.
The region is of strategic importance to the EU, which will contribute to stability not only of it, but also of Europe as a whole, it was stressed. The leaders sent a message – as never before, strong political support for swifter EU integration of the Balkans is needed.
In Athens, PM Dimitar Kovacevski held a meeting with Ursula von der Leyen. They exchanged views on the latest developments related to the constitutional changes process. The importance of successfully completing process to the further course of the integration path was highlighted.
