PM Dimitar Kovacevski informed via Facebook that he had brief meetings at the sidelines of the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Tirana with French President Emanuel macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. “With President Macron and Chancellor Scholz, who are great friends and supports of our country, we always have rather constructive conversations about the European future of North Macedonia. We discussed the ongoing activities conducted so far in the screening process and about the challenges we face and successfully overcome on our way towards full-fledged EU membership. We also discussed the energy crisis and the situation in Ukraine,” Kovacevski wrote on Facebook. At the summit, PM Kovacevski took part in two panel sessions, the first one focusing on the energy crisis and the energy stability of the Western Balkans, while the second one focused on the European perspectives of the Western Balkans. According to Kovacevski, the EU showed that it is ready for new enlargement amidst the security situation with Ukraine, and that this is appositive signal for the Western Balkans.
