PM Dimitar Kovacevski revealed at a press conference that he is ready to step down as
PM and give the position to someone from VMRO-DPMNE, if someone from the
opposition party proposes to the Parliament the initiative for constitutional changes. “I
am the signatory of the document containing the draft-proposal for constitutional
changes, but if someone from VMRO-DPMNE want to have that honour, I am ready to
step down and make room for them. I believe we should all participate in this process for
constitutional changes,” Kovacevski said. He also commented on the German
Bundestag’s upcoming debate over the proposal which would support integration of
North Macedonia in the EU and recognition and protection of the Macedonian language
and identity, saying that another great country will adopt a similar resolution very soon.
