PM Zoran Zaev paid an official visit to Berlin on Monday, joined by Foreign Affairs Minister Bujar Osmani. In Berlin, Zaev held meetings with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and Minister for Europe Michael Roth. At the meeting with Maas, Zaev discussed the current events concerning the integration of Macedonia in the EU and the blockade from Bulgaria for the first inter-governmental meeting between official Brussels and Skopje, which is expected to take place by the end of 2020. “I hope that Skopje and Sofia will reach agreement over the bilateral issues, so that we can hold the inter-governmental session by the end of this year, during the German presidency with the EU,” Maas said. At the meeting with Roth, PM Zaev thanked him for the assistance Germany provides to Macedonia in the EU- integration processes, voicing optimism that the inter-governmental session Skopje-Brussels will take place by the end of 2020.
