The Sejm of Poland ratified on Thursday the Protocol for Accession of Macedonia in NATO with 388 votes in favour and only one against. According to the text of the Law on Ratification of the Protocol, the integration of Macedonia in NATO would greatly contribute to the stabilisation of the Balkan region and will accelerate the implementation of reforms in that area of Europe. The very same day, the Parliament of Slovakia also ratified the Protocol. Poland and Slovakia are the 10th and 11th states respectively which have so far ratified the Protocol for Accession of Macedonia in NATO. The Protocol was previously ratified by Greece, Slovenia, Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Romania, Lithuania and Denmark.
