President Gjorge Ivanov, on day two of his official visit to the Czech Republic, met with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, Chairman of the Lower House of Parliament Radek Vondráček, and Milan Štěch, President of the Senate of Parliament of the Czech Republic. At their joint meeting, Ivanov and Babiš confirmed their commitment to improving mutual friendship and support at bilateral and multilateral level, the President’s office said. President Ivanov said that Macedonia highly appreciated the consistent and principled support of the Czech Republic for Macedonia’s top strategic priorities, namely EU and NATO membership, as well as the principled use of Macedonia’s constitutional name. The Macedonian President expressed satisfaction with the overall cooperation and support from the Czech Republic during the refugee and migrant crisis. “We highly appreciate the cooperation between Macedonia and the Czech Republic with respect to the migrant crisis and we are grateful for the assistance to Macedonian police to successfully manage the crisis. This support is a confirmation that the Czech Republic is a true friend of Macedonia,” stated Ivanov.
