The Office of the President of Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski reacted to a statement of Parliament Speaker (PS) Talat Xhaferi that the Parliament cannot be constituted without appointment of a new PS. “According to Article 90 Section 1 of the Constitutional regulations for mandate for new government, the President of North Macedonia is to hand over the mandate to the candidate for formation of new government no later than 10 days after the Parliament is constituted. The Parliament is considered as constituted once all mandates of the 120 MPs are verified. All deadlines must be respected, so the President is to hand over the mandate for formation of new government to the candidate that will secure a parliamentary majority no later than 10 days after 5 August,” the Office of President Pendarovski reported via a press release.
