President Pendarovski Addresses Event Marking UN’s 75th Anniversary

Through a video message, President Stevo Pendarovski delivered an address at the event held in New York on the occasion of the 75^th anniversary of the United Nations. As he said, over the past 75 years, the United Nations has been the cornerstone of international law and the multilateral system. “The creation of the United Nations is a monumental global achievement of humankind. Yet, world organisation can be as effective as the member states will allow it to be. Due to the known inner obstacles to its work, there are still tensions and conflicts around the world, millions of refugees and migrants, uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources and denigration of human dignity. New dangers joined the old ones, such as religious extremism, transnational organised crime and the digital divide.
